The story of Vado

Vado was founded in Helsinki in 2008. One of the founders, Max, an experienced filter specialist, came up with a name that doesn’t refer to our product directly, but rather describes our attitude. In 2022 it merged with Balti Filtrid, an Estonian filter producer. Vado, given its Finnish roots, conveys a brand that's active and fast.

2008

Building the Foundation

Vado was born in 2008 in Helsinki, Finland, when Max and Pekka, two experienced filter specialists, started their own company here. They set a new standard in service with punctual delivery and expert advice.
2013

Launching own production

The company faced quality challenges with filters imported from Germany and Poland. The only way to achieve the required quality was to produce our own filters, so a Vado plant was launched in Keila, Estonia. Vado invested in product development, introducing a pioneering Nanowave material and working on more robust frames. Max personally designed and constructed production lines which marked a notable improvement in quality.
2022

Two become one

Vado and Balti Filtrid merged our strengths in 2022. The manufacturing capacity now ranges from minipleat to pocket filter production, with sales and service teams present in both Estonia and Finland. Unified under one brand, Vado has grown to become the industry’s challenger. We set the benchmark in clean air service.

Vision for cleaner Europe

Vado strives to become the clean air industry’s opinion leader. Our goal is to help consumers across Europe realise the importance of air quality in achieving good living and working conditions.
We also think of ways to reuse all scrap material. Also how to capture and store more CO₂ than our supply chain emits into the atmosphere.

Our production

Vado's own product development and manufacturing keeps us in charge of filter quality. It also makes us flexible when it comes to delivery and responding to the needs of a changing world. Our production is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.

Our production unit in Kapteni tee is where most of our panel filters come to life. It’s an environment where precision matters — from material selection to final assembly. By keeping production local, we maintain full control over quality, lead times, and consistency.

Our Keila unit is the central hub of our manufacturing operations. It’s where most of our pocket filters and specialty products are made.

This site also holds our core raw material stock, minimizing supply risks. Centalised production and materials keep our operations efficient, responsive, and reliable.

Our third production unit is where our semi-finished products come to life — most importantly, the pockets used in our pocket filters. This is where our state-of-the-art production lines sew technical filter media together.

It’s a highly specialised environment focused on consistency. The result: aerodynamically optimised filter pockets that form the foundation of the product line.
